Job Fair
We have a huge job fair coming to our city. Running a Business in America is where it is the most opportune right now. Companies are realizing the high cost of shipping overseas and inexpensive labor. I noticed so many people out of work in our city alone and the thousands standing in long lines in the heat to be interviewed and then maybe not.
The most important decision one can make is operating your own home based business. Everyone has something to gain building their own home based business. I was thankful for the oppportunity to to work from home and not be affected by the economy. There is a shift occurring in our society of women entrepreneur’s who understand the importance of seriously seeking their own business in the home place. There are many obvious reasons in having your own home based business, the unstable cost of gas, saving on your clothing bill for work, building financial security for retirement, and having that needed time with family.
I urge you to think about standing in long lines for massive job fairs and rethink your strategy for long term financial success.
You will never have to stand any another line or wait months for that phone to ring from a perspective employer.

The words “JOB FAIR” could have two different meanings.
When you first hear the words, you envision what is traditionally thought of. It’s a few employers scrutinizing many applicants for only a handful of jobs. Attending these types of fairs can be stressful, exhausting and down-right disappointing.
I like my version of a JOB FAIR. Break the two words apart and look at the definitions to understand what I mean. JOB: A piece of work, a specific task done as part of the routine of one’s occupation or for an agreed price. FAIR: An exposition in which different exhibitors participate, sometimes with the purpose to amuse and entertain – carnival.
With a home based business for women, every day can be a Job Fair – being amused and entertained while accomplishing a task to make money.
Now . . . . . doesn’t that sound like more fun? Where’s the Cotton Candy?

Renee , I loved your take on Job Fairs…………..very clever and I never thought of the two words separately. Job and Fair. Very nice synopsis of the situation.

I have worked both sides of a job fair. The words never made me think of a fair. Just a long day standing on my feet looking for the diamond in the rough. As a woman entrepreneur I am so thankful to never being going to a job fair again.

Especially for more “mature” job seekers, job fairs can be frustrating. I was once passed up right at a job fair kiosk, in favor of a much younger, more glamorous, but less experienced candidate. No,really! Not just sour grapes! LOL!
But…that’s life. However, you won’t find ANY kind of age discrimination at Women’s Dream Team. The women entrepreneurs here all ages, colors, shapes, and backgrounds. REALLY a TEAM!
