TeamWork

Carl Mays in his book Anatomy of a Leader gave a great story about teamwork that I remember like it was yesterday.

olympic rings

” It is amazing what can happen when colleagues are committed to a task and committed to one another. Working shoulder to shoulder with associates builds loyalty commitment, and enthusiasm. In the 1980 Olympics, the US hockey team was ranked seventh in a field of eight teams. Working together, they won game after game and gained enormous confidence with each win. In the final fame, it was the undefeated American team agianst Russia, the expected gold medal winner. That game became one of the greatest upsets in the history of sports when the US team won 4-3. There were twenty young men on the American team. As individuals, they were good; as a team they were the best in the world.”

This brought me back to that Olympics and then flashed me forward to the team of women that I work with on Women’s Dream Team. Together…we move mountains!

I definately see the need for Team work in anything we do in life. And The Women’s Dream Team is the greatest. You just would not believe how many times I have been suckered into joining a program that promised the world (and especially team contributions, training, contact) that ended up being an ebook or audio/video presentation and nothing more. How easy is it to give up when things aren’t going as well as you expected when you get a dry email once a week or so as opposed to some one calling you and listening to your issues and giving great advise and then following up on that call. WOW!! What a concept. Well, I found it here and I am glad I did. Team work is where it’s at. Thanks.

Being a member of Women’s Dream Team, I have come to know what teamwork truly is. No matter what the question, problem, favor, etc. may be, there is always someone there willing to help out. How many opportunities arise that you can be in business for yourself and have hundreds of partners?

Thanks for reminding me of that miracle in 1980. I remember that no one could believe the outcome of those games. As a team, each person’s effort is magnified with the energy and excitement of the group. The amazing women on the Women’s Dream Team magnify me daily. They make me better by just being there. Sharing a common goal with others creates miracles. Thanks Women’s Dream Team.
