Defining Success
Fancy car? Giant TV screen? Big diamond ring?
Are these our measures of success? I used to think so. Then I got the car, the TV, and the ring. What happened next? I got to show them off to other people, of course.
Then what?
You know the answer… I bought more stuff. I made sure it was newer, bigger, and more expensive. Simple. Then as I continued down the path of accumulation, I reached the inevitable conclusion. Where would I put it all?
“That’s easy,” my friend suggested, “Rent a storage unit.”
Eureka! We had so much fun that weekend. I rounded up the kids, and made a fun family weekend of it. You can imagine everyone’s excitement when they heard my plan. “If you pack all this heavy stuff into my truck, and help me unload it, in the hot sun, I’ll give you each a new pair of working gloves.”
Yes, we’d achieved the American Dream. Lot’s of wonderful stuff and a storage unit to capture the overflow. Hmmm. What now? “I know,” my friend chimed in. “Let’s have a garage sale!”

If you’re like me, this story is familiar. If you want something more out of life, you should consider starting a home business for women. What I exchanged for all that stuff was my time, my relationships, and my sanity. My stuff owned me. Now, as I stay home with my children, and take the time to listen, their needs become more clear, and my life is full of the happiness I was searching for all along. I love my home based business for moms!

Sheila, this is awesome! It’s so true. Keeping up with our desires, our worldly possesions, and just plain keeping up with the Jonses is exhausting! It takes away our attention, time, and energy from the things that matter most. I’m so glad that you found what you were looking for with your home based business! I want to get where you are! I want to schluff off all of the excess baggage that my THINGS have over me. I want to rule my own home, not be ruled IN it. BRAVO!

I absolutely agree… I got tendinitis and had to quit my job for a few months. Well, now unable to find one, I was able to take advantage of the fact that I’d always wanted to be a stay at home mom. I am only 13 weeks pregnant, so it allows me to prepare for the time when I am and hopefully get into a comfortable spot for when I need to take a little time just for baby when it arrives. I am so grateful for finding this opportunity so my fiance and I will not have to worry about who is raising our child and where all our “stuff” goes. I appreciate the little things a lot more now than when I worked from 5am-4pm, and have less worries than before. Things are taking off, and having a business while my fiance works makes me feel much more useful and gives me something to talk about that I’ve done all day. It’s wonderful and I couldn’t be happier!
