Germs!!!
You know this weekend was great, I got to spendtime with two of my husbands sisters at a beach house in Sunset Beach, NC. It was a quaint little coastal town with a beautiful view.
I have always had issues with staying in any type of hotel or rental house, there are so many germs! My husband thinks I am silly. He laughs more at the drive to and from our destinations, because the public restrooms are worse!!! If I walk in to a restroom and think it less than par, I will hold it until we get to the next gas station. I am always afraid of the things I may come in contact with. Why? I usually get sick…. Oh did I not tell you, I am SICK!!! I came in contact with some nasty germ from one of the many stops we made on our trip.
I haven’t been this sick is a long time. Thank God that I work at home! I have been able to be sick and not feel like I had to get up and make myself look better or pretend that I feel good infront of the public. Not one person can see me! I am able to talk to people when I am feeling a little better and am able to sleep when I need it. Now tell me there is another job in this world that would allow you to do this!!

Wow, sounds like a beautiful trip (other than the germs). We are dealing with germs too. My youngest granddaughter has pneumonia and the freedom I have from my home based business for women with Women’s Dream Team allows me to help my daughter out and keep her while my daughter works. She comes over and hangs out in my office on the couch and I can work and take care of her at the same time.

Great point – not only financial freedom but freedom to take care of yourself when you need it. And you’re right, working outside the home just doesn’t flex in that direction. With the demands and stresses that most women face on a daily basis, this basic opportunity to just take care of ourselves when we need to can make all the difference in finding that balance we’re all striving for.

Hope you feel better soon,Niki! You make a good point. Not only have we found financial freedom for stay at home moms, but a kind of physical freedom…being able to take care of your illness, and your business at your own pace! Take Care!

There is one good thing Nikki, You don’t have to ask anyone for a day off to rest! Take care of yourself and get well soon!

Oh Nikki – you have my deepest sympathy – especially in light of the fact that I’ve been sick as a dog all week too. I don’t think mine was caused by a germ so much as POLLEN! But you know what? When I started feeling a little less than spectacular – I sent an email off to my team – and an email off to my mentors and said COVER ME! And that was all it took. Trust me when I say – no amount of make-up could possibly hide the full bloom of allergy on my face! Working from home is great!

Niki, I can relate! I was happy to see airports and other customer service related businesses create doorless restrooms because you do not have to touch the door when after you have washed your hands. In saying that, they usually have the automatic fawcets that are censored by your motion. I have learned a lot about germs in public faciities. Working from home and choosing to use environmentally safe products and non toxic products that are safe for my family and my animals is the best decision I have ever made. I can use products that are safe and I can secure my finiancial future by working from home and sharing the products with people who want to have their own at home business with peace of mind.

I hope you are feeling better, Niki! I don’t get sick that much from coming into contact with germs, but I still must have things extremely clean and germ-free. And I think I passed this on to my son. He’s 9 and cannot stand germs. He’s always telling my daughter, 6, to wash her hands and clean up (she’s not so concerned with the germ thing!).

Pit stops with husbands CAN be a challenge. You’re looking for a clean restroom and they’re looking for affordable gas prices!

I forgot to add – I considered it a great accomplishment as a Mom when I taught my kids to get in and out of a public restroom without touching ANYTHING!

I have such a hard time staying away from all the germs at work this is why I love my home based business!

When we speak of public germs, it reminds me of my last full time job where I worked at a book store. Our restrooms were often referred to as the cleanest restrooms in the mall. This of course, meant our restrooms were very busy throughout the day. As a manager, I had to check the restrooms often for cleanliness and needed supplies. Long ago, I learned the trick of using the paper towel you dry with to open the door handle as you leave the restroom. I’ll be I cleaned those door handles 20 times a day with paper towels. Public places are so very contagious! One more thing I am happily no longer dealing with as I build my home based businesses for women.

Interesting take on this issue. I for one have seen many twists on this and can often spot the holes in the arguement however, on this occasion I belive your writing is such that everyone should be in agreement with this. Thank you for sharing it with us.
