Break Away from the Doldrums

For all those moms out there who feel like they’re going to have a break-down if they have to pick one more cheerio up off the floor, I hope this helps!

The next time you’re trapped in the house with your toddler and driving each other nuts, try this little exercise – it really helped boost me out of the doldrums while stuck at home with my son during two weeks of rain. My new perspective after doing this REALLY made a difference for us, and we enjoyed the following week immensely, and being a work-from-home mom with my own on line home busines, I was actually able to be productive!

The first thing I did was think through a typical day for us, and all the little ways he has of doing things, and what could be going through his little mind as he does them. Then I wrote a short list of a few of those things:

  • Winter boots are the best shoes EVER.
  • Cats are no fun unless you’re chasing them.Rain2
  • Any meat other than chicken or turkey dogs is “stinky”, and turkey dogs with condiments on them are “dirty”.
  • Horses are really cows in disguise.
  • Clean laundry makes the best landing pad for jumping off the back of the couch!
  • Peanut butter makes AWESOME face cream!

So the next time your toddler is in the middle of the freshly folded laundry and throwing it everywhere – just remember – to a little one, the clothes flying through the air are giant birds!

What a great way to start a Monday morning,by reading this post. LOL for sure! How wonderful that your women’s home based business allows you to observe your little one and write this list. No babysitter or overworked daycare employee would be able to appreciate that “peanut butter makes awesome face cream!” Thanks for sharing this!

I do not have children, but I do have a kennel of Saint Bernard’s and I can tell you that all of the above apply as to why I love my home based business for women. They are my children and in saying that I find it hard to work a traditional job and care for them properly. There are so many business opportunities for women now that it only makes good sense to take advantage of the Womens Dream Team with their Ready-Set-Go approach to help you become successful. I can do the peanut butter too by the way!

I know children are one thing and not comparing them to Saint Bernard’s but they do bring so much joy in my life. Having my own women’s home based business the answer for staying at home and tending to my fur family.

Such a good idea – what a wonderful way to take something that could be frustrating and just shift your perspective and it becomes a joy.

As women entrepreneurs the ability to shift our perspective to see the opportunity in a challenge – well that goes a long way to making a success. And when the challenges seem like they’re awfully big, we can come here to this amazing team of diverse women and find humor and inspiration.

Thanks to each and every one of you!

I am still laughing. Great post. Sometimes I think we need to take our minds and attitudes back to that on a child’s level. Even better that we can be home with our children to experience this joy, thanks to our home based business for women.

I love this post!!! I did not stay home with my girls who are both in their 30’s now. However, now I am a grandmom and loving it to pieces. My grand daughter knows that I have a business that I work from home. I spend as much time as possible with her and know that I am providing an excellent example for her. Children are very impressionable and remember everything!!!! I know that exposing my grand daughter to my home based business will leave a lasting impression on her.

I was an only child raised by my grandmother. Needless to say, there were many times when I had to create my own diversions to entertain myself. One of my favorite pastimes was to build a tent, made out of chair-backs, broomsticks and bedspreads. I would still play the same games inside the tent that I would play at other times without the tent. Just having a different perspective through different surroundings made the game different in some way.

Now that I’m grown, and have a small business for women, I find there are certain tasks that can easily become dull and repetitive. However, if I change my surroundings, such as working outside, or in a different room, it somehow lightens my spirits and I can easily complete my work. Maybe one day in the future, I’ll build a tent in my living room and do my work from inside it.
