Have you ever watched a child mimic a parent knowing that whatever they do is the way life really is? Parents are the best teachers for their children. Kids are so smart these days they pick up on so much we do. You may not think it registers but it does! I have seen children manifest and reflect parent behavior among their own play groups.
If there is no other reason to have your own home based business I do not know what is. Imagine the benefit your child receives from watching your organizational skills, communicating , and problem solving with others. Children are learning the value of hard work to achieve their dreams. I have always thought of residual income and financial security going hand in hand in a successful womens home based business but I have never realized what an impact it has on future generations.
Children learn how to win and how to lose gracefully and when to accept the pitfalls even if only temporary. We are grooming a whole new generation of work at home business entrepreneur’s and do not even realize it. The next time your child asks while you are working at home and why you are so kind and so helpful and all that stuff helps you bring money into the home ……..tell them it is your legacy to them while they are growing up wondering what they want to be when they grow up.
Do not be surprised when they say, “I want to be just like my Mom”!
Who are you?

Some days I feel as I am the Queen of Multi-Tasking and other days…I feel like a fish out of water! Multi-tasking can be a wonderful skill or a downfall if not used properly.
Cutting corners on how to clean up a kitchen, talking on the phone while dusting, or making business calls while waiting for your child to finish up at soccer practice are all excellent ways to make use of your time and multitask.
Talking on the phone while driving, doing your nails while mowing the lawn, and changing the baby while roller blading are not good ideas. ( I know some of those are just funny but seriously…short cutting important communication and important skills/tasks are not good)
You need to make efficent use of your time, while not shortcutting the value in what you do.
Work at Home moms with a home based business are at high risk of too much multi-tasking if you do not set up your office and stick to office hours. It is way to tempting to throw a load of laundry in during work hours if your office is in view of the washing machine.
If you remember to Work Smarter, Not Harder…you will be a true effective Multi-tasking Queen
What are some do’s and don’ts that you can think of?

When the economy was better, women could take maternity leave and not have to worry about the job being gone when they returned. But that’s no longer the case. Taking leave from any job now means that you run the risk of simply not having a job when you return. With so much more on their minds, a poor job market is something new mothers or expecting mothers shouldn’t have to worry about.
One way to skirt around this problem is to seek out an at home business opportunity for women.
Working from home has benefits for anyone who’s interested, but it’s particularly well suited for mothers, because it’s a physically easy job. There’s no heavy lifting involved with at home projects such as data entry or freelance writing. There’s also no commute time, so as you near your due date you’ll never be far from the hospital. Mothers can also split their days between working and watching the new little one. It’s an ideal situation, especially for those that are looking to pick up some extra cash or to supplement another salary.

I found this story by an unknown author that totally demonstrates why our children do as we do, not as we say
Teaching Baby Crab to Walk
Father crab was delighted that he had a baby, and hoped that his son would be the most correct and proper crab. Later, however, he was grieved to see Baby Crab sidling along instead of walking straight. “My son,” he said, “always remember that you should walk straight forward.” But despite all the lessons and talk of his father, Baby Crab persisted in walking sideways.
For many, many days the two might be seen at the bottom of the stream, and each day Father Crab put more and more energy into teaching his son to walk straight. At last the little fellow became discouraged and saddened and said, “Father, just walk straight yourself, and show me how it is done.”
The father crab started proudly along the sand at the bottom of the stream, but though he tried hard to walk straight, he had been so accustomed to walking at a slant that nature was too strong for him, and he went sideways.
The little crab cried out with glee, “If that is all that you want, I can walk like that too, Father,” and ever since, the baby crab has grown up walking sideways, which shows how much stronger were his father’s actions than his words.

Wow this really drives home that our children do as we do. I am glad that I have a home based business where I am able to demonstrate hard work and effort to my children.

Although their numbers have dwindled in recent years, stay-at-home moms deserve to be commended for their dedicated style of parenting. Few parents feel comfortable shipping their young children off to daycare. Luckily, circumstances sometimes allow one parent to stay home and nurture the kids while the other earns money.
Sometimes that single source of income isn’t quite enough to sustain a family, but that doesn’t mean mom needs to return to work at the office. The Internet offers several unique stay at home mom businesses that anyone can take part in. They can use their professional skills to work from home and remain a part of their children’s everyday lives.
It’s true what they say: you can earn money from the Internet. Web surfers can get paid for visiting sites, responding to surveys, writing reviews, referring friends, clicking ads, rating products and services, and contributing articles and snapshots. The compensation may not be sizeable, but it is ready cash nonetheless.
Enterprising hobbyists can also profit from an online business. By creating their own website, they can sell their goods to others who similarly frequent the Net, aside from their existing network of family, friends, and colleagues. Several online entrepreneurs also benefit greatly from joining social networking sites. Through these friendly sites, any member can set up a business, market his wares, broaden his reach, and increase his client base.
Most small-scale online businesses are run on the side or operated part time only by their busy proprietors. These people have day jobs, full time work elsewhere, or are stay at home parents whose top priorities are their kids and their homes. Even if you have never held a nine-to-five job, there are lucrative home based businesses for moms you can take advantage of.
I just read this story and it struck me

An exectutive from one of the major airlines boarded one of his own aircraft en route to a busines meeting. Before they left the gate, the executive pulled down the tray table form the seat in front of him and found a cofee stain on it. He refused to let the plane leave until the flight attendant had gone through and checked every tray table on the entire aircraft. The crew quickly went thorugh the cabin, did a few spot cleanings, and in only a minute or two they were in the air heading toward their destination.
During the flight, one of the attendants approached the executive and asked him why he had made such a big deal about a little coffee stain on his tray table. His answer was simple. Pereption. He asked the flight attendant, if one of our paying passengers pulls down their table and finds a stain on it, what will their perception of our airline be? The attendant thought for a moment and the recognized that the perception would be that the airline does not care or that they don’t pay attention to details. Perhaps this would lead a customer to wonder; how well do they service their engines? It could have created a loss of confidence in the airline all together.
In our every day lives, professionalism is a quality that leads to a great perception. With Women’s Dream Team, we are a top notch professional group of women that work from our homes with our own home based business. As Women Entrepreneurs we want the top notch perception 100% of the time!
I am finally getting used to the fact that I am a grandma and all of a sudden I have 12 grand kids. I am writing this blog from my son’s house in Elizabethtown, KY. I feel so blessed because without my home-based business I wouldn’t have been able to jump in the car and come down here to see my brand new granddaughter or to see my son off to Qatar next week. I remember back when my children were growing up. I worked so hard all the time, 40-50 hours a week. I was lucky to use my lunch hour in order to take care of doctor appointments or school functions. I was so exhausted when I got home in the evenings by the time I finished cooking dinner, getting the kids ready and cleaning up the house I didn’t have any desire to plan a vacation. I am so happy to be able to have it different now. Since we 6 year old twin boys now and we are new parents all over again, I find myself so rich in the fact that I can work from home and be home with my kids. Believe me, life is so much easier now.
