During my personal search for financial freedom for women, I soon realized that I needed to educate myself and look at things from a different perspective. While taking on that challenge I began reading books and articles written by people that had already established themselves in the world of success.
Although I have many favorite authors, one in particular is Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad. He writes of the many life lessons he learned from two completely different individuals as well as his discovery of the four cash flow quadrants:
E – Employee (working for somebody else who determines your schedule, job, pay and security)
S – Small Business person, Self-employed (working for yourself, determining your own schedule, job, pay and security – usually only able to reap the rewards from your own personal efforts)
B – Business Owner (working for yourself, determining your own schedule, job, pay and security – able to reap the benefits from others’ efforts as well as your own through time leveraging)
I – Investor (able to leverage your money to reap even greater rewards)
After reading and studying this philosophy, I have been able to identify and categorize my past, current and future cash flow quadrants. I used to be an “E” working for others but never getting ahead. Then I became an “S” and started my own business but only having so many hours in the day to secure my future. I am now a “B” having my own small business for women and being rewarded on the efforts of others as well as my own. My goal is to be an “I” having enough money to begin investing in things that will generate multiple streams of income.
I suggest that you too reflect on where you have been, where you are today and where you want to be. If you are not happy where you are, you can change.

That’s the great thing about Women’s Dream Team. You get a mentor,a teacher,to help you every step of the way. Some thoughts on how to view your mentor:
- She has the experience. Trust her way of doing things, because she’s been there, and she knows what works and what doesn’t!
- Keep in touch with her. Don’t wait for her to call YOU if you need help. She’s smart, but she’s not clairvoyant! Let her know what you need, don’t be shy!
- Praise her and appreciate what she does for you! She needs to hear it. Encourage her. It’s a 2-way street! Build her up to others, too.
- Remember that someday soon YOU will be someone’s mentor, apply the Golden Rule. Treat your ‘advisor’ as you will want to be treated by your protege!
Such is the structure of this awesome online business for women. You are in control of your enterprise, but you’re never alone!
Last week, the Washington Post reported that the healthcare industry is spending a record $1.4 million dollars a day (Yes, a day!) to protect their interests in health reform.

While health reform holds great promise in providing more children and adults with affordable and comprehensive health coverage, some legislative proposals now under consideration could result in some children ending up with fewer benefits than they currently have.
What’s happening? Congress is thinking about ending the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and moving those 7 million children into a new health insurance exchange created by health reform.
As a women entrepreneur, I know how important it is to be informed about health care changes and how it affects my family. Become educated about this issue so you can form an educated opinion about child health care reform.
As the children are home for summer vacation it is not too early to have a Mom’s Fall Resolution ready. Become more invested in your child’s education this fall. It is so important that your child sees you value their education.
Sitting at home in my office, as I have a home business for moms, I am looking at the list of things that I have to do to get ready for the fall. I myself am making my fall resolutions to make this the best school year ever for both of my children. Here are the questions you can ask yourself…..
How can you get involved?
- meet the teacher
- call the counselor and check on your child’s classes for next year
- set aside specific time for your child to do their homework in the schedule..don’t have them squeeze it in, schedule it
- set aside a location in the house where your child can complete their homework (and NOT their bed or couch) They need to have a desk/table with proper light.
- Get the supply list and shop early (supplies disappear quickly) as you want your child prepared for classes on the first day.
- Have a set reading time over the summer. Your child should be reading 15 minutes each day.
- Get your child a calendar/planner so they can keep track of long term assignments so the due dates do not sneak up on them.
- Have your child get to know some students that will be in their classes that are responsible so that your child has a homework buddy.
- Visit your child’s school website weekly to keep updated.
- Have regular meals together and talk about education and what they are doing. Discuss their books they are reading, talk about due dates of assignments, friends, etc.
Do you have any more suggestions?
Deciding to begin a home based business for moms may be the end result of wanting a better lifestyle for you and your family or you may just be tired of working for others. No matter what the reason, you will need a good business plan and lots of dedication and patience.
When making the decision to begin your business:
- Look for something you are interested in. Although you may have the drive to operate your own business, if your business revolves around something you have a sincere interest in, it will make it easier and much more fun.
- Find resources for advising, training, support and a proven business model. Even though you may have a unique idea, product or service you can benefit tremendously from others that have succeeded with similar businesses. Why try to re-create the wheel when all you have to do is ride on it?
- Decide what your financial commitment will be to start up the business as well as the money needed to sustain it month to month. You should take into consideration, the cost of your products or services, tools need to work the business and finally advertising or promotions.
- Set time aside for your business. If you are like one of the many moms that are looking to supplement an income earned from a job, then your business may need to be your second priority as far as your time allotment. However, keep in mind that your business will never get off the ground or be successful if you do not schedule dedicated time daily and weekly towards it.
Whatever business you choose, keep your eye on your goal. . . . . . oh yes, I almost forgot, you must have a goal.
Every where you turn the price of groceries and items we use daily are at an all time high. I look for ways to cut costs and give my family the best value for our money.
I motivate myself to grow my own vegetables and fruits or look for a local Veggie Co-op. Working from home has saved me the most because I save on gas and we all know how high that is! I think the surprising factor about starting my own womens home base business is that I am saving on everything I buy for the home. Our dollar has to stretch further and from a woman’s entrepreneur prospective I can do well to generate an essential income from home and save money at the same time.
Financial freedom is within your grasp and the Womens Dream Team has a system that not only supports you in a very friendly and real way , but creates a money making vehicle that will last you a lifetime. I cannot imagine the money I have spent over the years by not investing in home first. They say “home is where the heart is” and having your own womens home based business makes those dreams come true.

Empty nest syndrome might not be considered a true medical disorder, but its emotional effects are very real. Many women strive to raise happy, self-sufficient children. In some cases, women sacrifice a full-time career in the interest of making sure their children grow up with all the tools necessary to survive. Once that objective is accomplished, it’s never easy to find a similarly fulfilling goal.
For empty nesters, half the battle is rediscovering that healthy marital dynamic. After all, when the kids are away, the adults can finally play. In addition to relighting that romantic spark, women can move their own dreams to the forefront. Extra income for women is very attainable, whether it’s from a part-time job that provides the basis of a routine or an opportunity to work from home. It’s a blessing in disguise when the kids leave for college; they’ll be back to visit often, and in the meantime women can reconnect with their personal goals.
When I was a young girl, I used to put my mother’s checks in numerical order. I remember feeling so proud (and smart!) that I was able to assist with an adult task. Seeing things like this first hand as a child I think better prepared me for the future. I always understood bills and that you had to work in order to earn money to pay those bills. However, I don’t specifically remember my parents sitting me down to teach me this. I also don’t recall learning this in school. Yes, you learn about money and the purpose of working, but you don’t learn HOW to work. We shouldn’t wait until our child is nearly an adult to start teaching them about work and responsibility.
What we can do is teach our children without having to teach – by giving them a great example. Children absorb so much information just by observing what’s going on around them. By having a home based business, you can still be able to earn the extra income your family requires, as well as provide a safe and subtle learning environment for your children. Besides the obvious bonus of extra time spent at home and no childcare required, here are some other advantages of working from home.
Kids see firsthand the importance of work and how to balance work with the rest of your life. They see so much more than just leaving in the morning and coming home at night.
They can learn that focused hard work =’s more play time!
Learn organizational skills and the importance of prioritizing. (Even something like.. I have to make three calls and then we can…)
Observe mature social skills, both by phone and in person
Manners and language will be up to you to decide, rather than another child at daycare who might not have been taught the importance of respect.
The list could go on and on, but I think we can all agree that we hope to provide our children with the best upbringing possible. What better way to start our children on a path to success. It’s never too soon to start, and these good habits can last a lifetime. Working from home is the greatest way I’ve found to make myself as available as I can, and I will cherish every moment I get.
When a woman decides to build her own business, the first thing she should do is research what type of business she wants to have. The easiest place to begin the research is online. With just a little effort, you can find a plethora of information about various opportunities. Whether the decision is to offer a product or service, to be successful, there must be a viable demand in the marketplace.
One of the most lucrative business opportunities for women today, as well as into the future is marketing your product or service online. However, even on line businesses need a certain amount of research. Below are some of the considerations that should be thought about.
1. What / Who is the appropriate market for the business?
2. Are there similar business offering the same product / services? If there are, what makes your idea different?
3. If you plan on an online business, how are you going to generate traffic to the site? No visitors to the site = no sales.
4. Many business opportunities online are unethical, or a scam. How can you market your business to separate yourself from all the negativity found online
5. Does your chosen market have the resources and the need for your product / services?
Anytime you decide to begin your own business, you should consider the fact it will take dedication and perseverance. A good idea can become GREAT with hard work and organization. After completing your research and deciding upon the undertaking for you, for success, dive in with your heart and your mind.
My days in the Corporate world always mystified me and unlike the Corporate world in countries such as France and England were urged to take one to two months off with pay for holiday. How can these countries in the Corporate world care more about their employees than the good ole USA.
The Corporate world was life changing because I realized that family must come first. I had no doubt I had reached the end of the line with my working days. I decided that working from home surely would create a solution for spending time with my family, and build financial freedom for my future. My husband works hard and I would like to see him kick back and enjoy the fruits of his labor. The Womens Dream Team gave me the opportunity to have a Womens Home Based Business and allocate my time to have a healthy balance of work and familly. My aging parents needed me. How would I care for them and build a monetary safety net in case I became the caretaker. In fact, by having my own home based business all things were possible. I have every possible tool at my disposal to become successful and create the financial freedom I need and desire and you know, family does come first!
