I just could not believe what the doctor was telling me. My son, an autoimmune disease, how in the world could this be. I don’t believe it. Every week I have to drive my son to the doctor for blood work and every two weeks take him to the hematologist/oncologist for a once over. He looks so normal, acts normal, eats normal but the reality is that his immune system is destroying him. What makes that happen? As I sat reflecting on all this new information I realized how blessed I am to be able to Stay At Home Mom Business and be available to do all this running back and forth every week. Moms really need to be able to be home so they can deal with the speed bumps that life has before us. Just when we think we have it all figured out, in comes one from left field. I could not imagine having to deal with the stress of my son’s diagnosis and have to go to a job and deal with that stress as well. As moms we need to research and try to do whatever necessary to stay home and care for our children instead of having to drop them off somewhere for a daycare to do it. This is the most important job that was ever created and we need to put our all into it. They grow up to quickly.

As I gaze out my window at our first flurries of puffy, white happiness, my shoulders tense, my heart races, and I relive memories of last year’s accumulation. Getting to work in the winter has a special meaning for those who shovel, in the darkness, to reach their frozen cars.
This year my new online business for women allows me the warm, joyful comfort of being home during winter storms. Instead of struggling with traction devices, I’ll concentrate on enjoying the beautiful scenery. Additionally, if my kids stay home for a snow day, my stress-free job gives me the freedom to take a break and play outside.
As bad weather days approach, I wish everyone safe travel. If you own a home-based business, I wish you congratulations on making a smart choice for yourself and your family.
President Obama declared a national state of emergency on last Saturday to help hospitals prepare for the H1N1(swine) flu pandemic1, We realized that we needed more information. How is the flu affecting my community?
The government has a website that provides local, state-specific information about H1N1 that is really helpful to me, and I wanted to pass it on to you. Just click on your state in the map below to be connected to resources and alerts about H1N1 in your state.
if the map is not interactive for you, please go to

Are you concened about the newest predictions of the H1N1 virus? I know in our area, there was a terrible outbreak this June/July.

Germ prevention is the key. It is important to wash hands and be aware of possible germs at all times. Also have hand sanitiser and wipes available if you are not at home (one more advantage of having a home based business if that you can wash your hands whenever you want)
Another advantage of working from home is that I can take care of the kids when they get sick. I just received an e-mail to sign a petition to give all Americans paid sick leave. I can’t believe that some people are forced to work where if they miss a day, they are docked pay.
What are some prevention tips you have heard?
P.S. Find important updates and information about H1N1 preparedness, response, and vaccine development from the CDC at www.flu.gov
Last week, the Washington Post reported that the healthcare industry is spending a record $1.4 million dollars a day (Yes, a day!) to protect their interests in health reform.

While health reform holds great promise in providing more children and adults with affordable and comprehensive health coverage, some legislative proposals now under consideration could result in some children ending up with fewer benefits than they currently have.
What’s happening? Congress is thinking about ending the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and moving those 7 million children into a new health insurance exchange created by health reform.
As a women entrepreneur, I know how important it is to be informed about health care changes and how it affects my family. Become educated about this issue so you can form an educated opinion about child health care reform.
One fun thing to do is to put a note in your child’s lunch. The note can be an encouragement for an upcoming test, congratulations for doing well on a project, a cute little drawing, or simply “I Love You.”Like all the other baby boomers in America today, we deal daily with the stress of living in this modern age. Many things have changed, such as music, fashion, technology and the economy. However, the one thing that has not changed is the fact that we all grow up and take on grown up responsibilities. We have suddenly found ourselves neck deep in raising a family, having a career and establishing our place in this complicated world.
All of our daily tasks create stress in our lives. Stress that we thought only affected our parents when we were younger. Nothing else can compare to the stress that is created at the workplace with deadlines, schedules, bosses and not to mention working with difficult people.
Everybody is looking for ways to reduce the amount of stress they deal with each day. Some people turn to exercise, meditation, or just quiet time. The problem with these methods, is come the next day, you’re right back in the middle of the same stuff.
I have found my perpetual stress reliever. I am a woman entrepreneur that operates my own small business for women. I only have to meet deadlines that I set for myself, create my own schedule, only answer to myself and best of all. . . . . I decide who I work with. Each day, I tell myself how lucky I am, not having to stress over the small stuff like going to work.
A couple times a week I hear the news broadcasting another school being “locked down” due to some kind of threat in or around the school. How scary that must be for a mom that is working or even a mom that is not working. Many moms have no choice but to work due to the economy. My husband and I made the choice to home-school our twins from the minute they were born. At the time I was working outside the home, however, I have been very fortunate to have a successful home based business for women that allows me to be able to stay home and home-school my boys. I know that making the decision to quit your job and stay home can be very scary. However, if you plan ahead, and start building your own business ahead of time, then you can make the transition from a job to a healthy business without any sacrifice. Being an Woman Entrepenuer is so much better and lucrative than having a “job”. So when I hear the news and listen to the scary things that are going on in the world, I sigh with relief because I am able to keep my kids home, where it is safe.
The outbreak of the Swine Flu is not only scary but can affect all of us. Working from home while having a stay at home mom business is a great way to avoid being exposed to the flu, but along with that we need to make sure our families are protected as well.
The use of hand sanitizers and hand washing are critical activities to not only prevent the Swine Flu but all bacteria. I do all I can to keep many chemicals out of our home making sure my family is safe.
I have been notified by my son’s college to avoid any travel to Mexico and also to avoid some farmer’s markets, which is hard for be because I really like the natural foods, especially since I am doing what I can to go green. I just want to warn as many people as I can to wash everything that is from ANY farm and make sure you and you children are washing and using hand sanitizers whenever you are exposed to any germs.
